12th - 13th June 2020
Two-day Doll-making Workshop
This workshop is designed for beginners in doll-making, as well as for those who already have some experience, but would like to develop further their skills in doll-making.
You will create a 16”/40 cm doll and learn how to:
sculpt a head with a felting needle,
add face details and expression,
achieve a balance and harmony through understanding a child’s/doll’s body proportions,
stuff and assemble the body,
add a little bum, knees and a belly button.
The body will be pre-sewn by me in advance, however, the pattern and printed instructions with lots of pictures will be provided.
We will discuss different kinds of hair and wig making methods.
During the class, mohair yarn, as well as Teeswater locks, will be used.
(upon submitting your deposit, you will receive an email inviting you to choose skin and hair color.)
During the workshop, there will be no possibility to make clothes for your doll. But I’ll be happy to include a pattern with instructions for one outfit. Or you might want to take a look at my “Design a Dress” Workshop”.
Level: beginners (basic crocheting, as well as hand-sewing skills, will be needed)
2 full days (4 sessions)
Maximum number of students: 8
Fee: €380 (all materials, needed to make a doll, are included in the price, but you will need to bring some tools to the class: scissors, multi-needle felting tool with at least 5-6 spare felting needles, pins, sewing needles, long dollmaking needle, and a measuring tape)
14th June 2020 (morning session)
Face sculpting Workshop
This class will focus on face sculpting, using the needle felting technique. You will learn how to:
add cheeks, lips, chin, and nose,
create a harmonious proportion of the face,
form a steady neck,
place properly the skin fabric to show better the face features and to avoid wrinkles.
We’ll be working on the head of 14-16” (35-40 cm.) doll.
You will be requested to bring skin fabric to cover the doll's head in the color of your choice and felting needles.
The body pattern for the doll as well as the instructions on how to assemble it could be provided as an option for an additional fee.
Skills: needle-felting - advanced beginners
Maximum number of students: 8

At the end of the class, your doll will get a dress designed by you and you will get lots of tips as well as the skills to create more beautiful dresses at home!
Fabric and supplies: Fabric and sewing thread will be provided (you will be able to choose from a variety of colors).
